About Wayne Perkey

For 30 years, Wayne Perkey was the wake-up voice for Kentuckiana on WHAS Radio.  “Wayne Perkey and the Morning Team” was one of the highest-rated morning radio shows in America.  And for 20 years, Wayne was ‘Mr. Crusade’ – host of the WHAS Crusade for Children, which has raised over $100 Million to benefit children with handicaps. 

Long-time Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson calls Perkey “Mr. Louisville.” 

Wayne was President of The Louisville Rotary Club, and received the “Rotarian of the Year” Award in 2002. 

Perkey was President of Sister Cities of Louisville, and broadcast his 
Morning Show from Paris and Montpelier, France; Mainz, Germany; La Plata, Argentina; Quito, Ecuador; London, England; Hawaii; Walt Disney World; and Barcelona, Spain during the Olympics! 

Perkey served on the Board of the Metro YMCA, and helped create the Mayor’s Community Thanksgiving Breakfast, and received its first “Spirit of Louisville Award.” 

Wayne is also an in demand Speaker.  He is a member of the National Speakers Association, and since 2009 has spoken on behalf of the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence to over 70 Rotary Clubs, Kiwanis Clubs and other groups in support of quality early childhood care and education. 

Wayne Perkey launched his Real Estate career in 2005 with VIP Realtors in South Florida on Sanibel/Captiva, and today is a Sales Associate with one of Louisville’s most successful Firms, Wakefield, Reutlinger. Perkey says, ‘Being a good Realtor is like being The Morning Man.  One must be a good listener.’
