My grandfather became a Louisville realtor shortly after WWII. The post war building boom created opportunities for him as well as my father and uncle with the rapid development of suburban areas like Fern Creek, Jeffersontown, Pleasure Ridge, Valley Station and Okolona.
My tutoring in the family business began in my early teens. I spent most every Saturday in the real estate office of A. W. Brent, my grandfather, where it was my job to sort and file the multiple listing cards that had arrived over the preceding week. These MLS cards were soon replaced by Homes Magazine which is rapidly being outdated by the on-line MLS.
